Last updated:
1. Information that may be collected
The information collected depends on how you interact with Mental Magnolia.
Information you choose to provide
You may voluntarily provide information when you:
- leave a comment on a blog post;
- send an email to Mental Magnolia;
- subscribe to future email updates;
- respond to a question, survey, or other interactive feature; or
- otherwise communicate directly with Mental Magnolia.
Depending on the feature, this may include your name, email address, website address, message, comment, or other information you decide to share.
Information collected automatically
The website and its service providers may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, dates and times of visits, and interactions with the website.
This information is generally used to understand website traffic, maintain security, prevent spam, troubleshoot problems, and improve the visitor experience.
2. Blog comments and spam protection
When visitors leave comments, the website may collect the information entered in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser information. This helps display and manage comments, recognize returning commenters when applicable, and detect spam.
Comments may be screened by Akismet, an automated spam-detection service operated by Automattic. Information connected with a comment may be sent to or processed by Akismet to determine whether the comment appears legitimate or is likely to be spam.
Approved comments may remain publicly visible with the name and website information supplied by the commenter. Email addresses entered in the comment form are not intended to be displayed publicly.
Mental Magnolia may moderate, remove, or decline comments that are abusive, threatening, discriminatory, promotional, intentionally disruptive, unrelated to the discussion, or otherwise inappropriate for the community.
Please avoid placing private, confidential, medical, financial, or identifying information in a public comment.
3. Cookies, Jetpack, and Google Analytics
Mental Magnolia uses cookies and similar technologies for basic website operation, comment preferences, security, traffic measurement, and site improvement.
A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. Some cookies are necessary for website functions. Others may help remember preferences or provide information about how visitors use the site.
Jetpack
Mental Magnolia uses Jetpack features provided by Automattic. Depending on the features currently enabled, Jetpack may process information about page views, referrals, browser or device details, interactions, and other technical activity used for statistics, performance, security, or related website functions.
Google Analytics
Mental Magnolia uses Google Analytics to better understand how visitors find and use the website. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and may receive information about your browser, device, pages visited, interactions, approximate location, and the source that referred you to the website.
This information is used in an aggregated or analytical form to evaluate traffic, identify useful content, understand website performance, and improve Mental Magnolia.
Your browser choices
Most browsers allow you to delete, restrict, or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect certain website features. Google also offers a browser add-on that visitors may use to opt out of Google Analytics measurement.

4. Website security
Mental Magnolia uses WordPress security tools, including Really Simple Security, to help protect the website, enforce secure connections, identify suspicious activity, limit malicious access, and address possible vulnerabilities.
Security systems may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser or device details, requested pages, login attempts, errors, or unusual activity when needed to protect the website and its visitors.
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information, but no website, internet transmission, or electronic storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
5. Email contact and future updates

Mental Magnolia contains links to websites and services operated by others, including Etsy and social media platforms.

You may review Etsy’s Privacy Policy before purchasing or creating an Etsy account.
Embedded content
